Sandra Laverty and Chris Edwards – Honourable Mention, Trillium award.

The owners planned this tranquil country-cottage-in-the-city garden to appeal to the passerby and to the lounger in the front porch hammock. Crowned by two beloved soaring maples, the garden is a rich mix of funky elements, dry river bed designs, interesting built structures, and plants: perennial ground cover, various hosta varieties, lilies, tulips, echinacea, dahlias, and wild flowers enrich the mix. Along the south side of the home are wild flowers, tiger lilies, giant sunflowers, and some wild thyme and sage. Through the gate on the north side of the house are roses and wildflowers with slate and pebble walkways.†The back yard offers fruit trees, a large vegetable and herb garden, cedars, and more perennial gardens in pockets.
