President's Message - 1993
Yearbook 1993 page 3 By: Judy Shedden Back to the web versionThank you! Thank you all for helping to make the one hundredth anniversary of the Society a wonderful celebration year. From beginning to end - the visit to Rideau Hall, the opening of the Clematis Arbour and Clematis Collection, the funding of the Fragrance Garden, the flower shows, the bus trip to Ameriflora, the regular programmes, the gala banquet ~ our celebrations reflected our traditions while preparing for the future.
It seems especially fitting that, at the end of the first century of our history, we welcomed a large number of new members, who quickly became involved in Society activities. The names of many of those can be seen on the 1993 committees.
We look forward to the first meeting of the one hundred and first year in the Society's history. The Society is growing and changing with the times. We hope that it may continue to flourish, so that when our younger members celebrate the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary they will be as proud of the Society then as we are today.
