Ontario Horticultural Association Our affiliation with District 2, OHA
Yearbook 2005 page 7 By: Ken Fink Back to the web versionThe Ontario Horticultural Association represents 277 societies with 40,000 members. Its role is to actively support its member societies as well as foster interest and education in horticulture and related environmental issues.
The OHA provides this support in a variety of ways: holding a yearly convention and shows, providing liability insurance, funds for public planting projects, publications, as well as administering the provincial grant. The Ottawa Horticultural Society acknowledges with gratitude the $1500 provincial grant we received through the Ontario Horticultural Association in 2004.
During the past year, the OHA has revamped its website in order to serve as a resource for Society members as well as Ontario gardeners in general. They have also produced a new binder for incoming society officers which will guide them as they take up their responsibilities.
The new OHA website is: http://www.gardenontario.org
The OHA is divided into 19 districts, we are in district 2 and Ken Fink is the district director. District 2 holds an annual meeting for all societies as well as a show and photo competition.
