President's Message - 1992

Yearbook 1992

By: Judy Shedden print friendly version

THE PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

It is a great honour for us all to be members of a society which has lasted a hundred years. It is an honour and also a responsibility. We must make sure that our celebrations reflect the traditions and character of the activities established by our predecessors and we must make sure that our celebrations anticipate the future of the society. In doing so, the way will be paved (excuse me, the way will be planted) for the Ottawa Horticultural Society to continue to grow and flourish for another hundred years.

The 1992 programme has been planned with care but lots of help will be required to make each event and project as successful as it possibly can be. In 1991 the Society welcomed many new members. 1 can vouch for the fact that the more involvement one has, the more enjoyable is one's membership. The experience of contributing to the work of the Society in good company is both satisfying and pleasant. The general committees are listed on page 0. If you would like to be a member of one of those, or would like more information, please let me know.
